Located
in the centre of Lancaster, this project
comprises four storeys of student
accommodation above ground floor shop
units. It was completed in September
2003.
The
building is framed in structural steelwork
to first floor level, creating open and
flexible retail space. Above this,
the student flats are in timber platform
frame construction. The timber frame
solution significantly reduced the overall
construction period compared to
conventional masonry walls and pre-cast
concrete floors.
