An office
development of three separate two-storey blocks in Lynstock, near Bolton.
The buildings
are framed in steel, with composite concrete floors cast on steel decking.
A full design service was provided, covering the building structures, access
roads, car parking areas and retaining walls.
The presence of
great-crested newts on the site required a surface water drainage system
without gulleys or slot drains, and strict limitations were placed on
discharge rates. Our solution to these problems involved a combination
of porous paving and below-ground stormwater storage.
